We are excited to introduce our extended boarding guests Charlie (Eclectus hen) and Franklin (Quaker). Charlie and Franklin will be staying at Barton Bird Care for about a month. We are thrilled to be boarding our first Eclectus and Quaker.
Charlie is so sweet but has a strong preference for Valerie. Although she prefers women, she will be brave and step up for David. What a good girl! Charlie is a calm bird that quietly observes everything in her environment. Even her “call” is relatively quiet, which she will use when you leave the room, or she is requesting to come out of her cage. After stepping up, she likes to hold on tight to Valerie’s fingers and often refuses to step back onto a perch. What a love! Charlie likes to swing on her “boing” rope and occasionally chew on a favorite cardboard toy. She loves walnuts, vegetable soup, apples, and sprouts.
Franklin is a spry but shy Quaker in beautiful blue feathers. The first thing he did in his boarding cage is take a splashy bath. He is quite fond of his food bowl and bounces around the cage before a meal. He has a soft spot for hard cheese and is working on stepping up which so far, he does only for his dad. He is noisy when he is happy and can be surprisingly boisterous for his small size. Franklin and Charlie enjoy each other’s presence from afar.
Charlie and Franklin’s “parronts” are headed up North for an extended holiday. We are grateful that they are sharing their gorgeous birds with us. Have an upcoming vacation? Headed home for the holidays? We’d love to host your feathered family members. Reserve your dates at 720-939-5070 or info@bartonbirdcare.com.
